The Power of a Positive Mindset

Positive Mindset, also known as optimistic mindset, refers to a person’s overall outlook in life and their tendency to focus on the positive aspects of it. The impact that positivity has on your life is incredible when you embrace its power.


Positive Mindset provides you greater motivation to keep pursuing your aspirations and achieving your goals. When you begin to think positively, your mind gets free of negative thoughts

, and you begin to perceive the world in a different way. You will no longer place blame on yourself or others. You’ll be in complete control of your emotions, and you’ll strive to learn something from every failure. It will make you feel more confident and joyful about whatever you are doing, whether it is acquiring a new job, or adopting a healthier lifestyle.


We often get so caught up in life that we forget how crucial it is to maintain a positive mindset. It will not only boost your vitality, energy, confidence and positive attitude, but will also empower you with the bravery and determination to attempt new things, explore the new areas of life, and make wise decisions.


Back when I was in college, I remember being a captive to my own negative contemplations. There were endless number of times I held myself back and restrained myself from some amazing opportunities which I regret now. Many of my friends had encouraged me but I just didn’t find the motivation to do anything due to the worst-case scenarios presented in my head. Instead of taking a step forward, I spent my time dwelling on various improbable situations. One day, it just struck to me that I was doing it all wrong. When a problem was presented to me, instead of thinking negatively and focusing on the negative outcomes, I took some time and thought about the positive solutions and the multiple ways it can go right. This made me realize that perspective plays a very important role. Instead of thinking about the negative results, or thinking that it was too difficult for me to do it, I chose to focus on solving the problem and getting a positive result.

It took a lot of self-reflection, maturity, and certain turning points for me to let go of my negative thoughts, focus on the positive side and helped me grow into the person I am today. I’m still a work-in-progress but I am proud of myself for making it so far.


I made a strong choice to improve my mindset after realizing how much it can impact my life, and I’m working on it every day. There are a few things that I do to keep myself in a positive mindset:

  1. Positive affirmations: Positive affirmations have really changed my life. I start my day on a positive note. Every morning, I remind myself of all that I have accomplished, and all the qualities I admire in myself that makes me feel good for the rest of the day.

  2. Focusing on the good things in life: When things don’t go as expected, I start to have negative thoughts. On days like these, I encourage myself to focus on the good thing that has happened to me and I drive myself to make the most of each day.

  3. Motivation: Everyone has their fair share of bad days. There are days when I put all of my effort and commitment into something, but it doesn’t yield a great result. On such days, I remind myself that challenging situations and obstacles are a part of life and that I need to keep trying and not to give up.

  4. Watching fun or inspirational videos: When I feel low, I tend to watch funny or inspirational videos in order to uplift my mood and make myself feel better.

Final Thoughts


Having a positive mindset has helped me improve my life experience. I feel more energetic, motivated and happy. I cope up with my problems in a better way; instead of thinking that “I can’t solve” it or “Its too difficult for me”, I tell myself that “I got this” and focus on finding a solution. Coming out of my comfort zone is one of the best things that I’ve ever done. It has made me more confident and has increased my productivity. I am more adaptable to change. Handling criticism or feedback has always been difficult for me. Earlier, I used to get offended because of this and I used to feel bad about myself. Now, whenever I receive feedback, whether positive or negative, I approach the situation with an open mind and try to understand the other person’s perspective better.


No one is perfect. We all have our ups and downs and we’re continuously learning and becoming a better version of ourselves everyday. We make mistakes, learn a lesson from them and move forward in life. Positive mindset plays a very important role and once you include it in your lifestyle, it’ll drastically change your entire life.
